CDС (centers for disease control and prevention) in their article Interim Guidance for Preventing the Spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19, SARS-COV-2) in Homes and Residential Communities recommends to clean your hands and high-touch surfaces with alcohol-based sanitizer, cleaning spray or antibacterial wipes with 60% or more alcohol. Disinfecting your home and work space helps to fight back against coronavirus.
The antibacterial wipes are moistened with one or several biocides: alcohol, chlorhexidine, “quats” (benzalkonium chloride, alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride), and usually enriched with skin-conditioning and fragrance additives. The wipes come in compact or box package, so when water and soap aren’t handy you can kill most of the bacteria and viruses. Some of the antibacterial wipes are intended for disinfection of the medical devices, such as chlorhexidine wipes. PDI has a full line of disinfecting wipes (sani wipes).
1. Antibacterial Wipes – General Information

Benzalkonium chloride antiseptic wipes do not burn wipe a scrape or a cut like an alcohol ones do, so you do not get continued crying from your baby when you are cleaning their wounds. If you get a scrape, squeezing some antibiotic skin care product onto it and covering with a bandage can lock in a lot of mess and germs. You should clean it first, optionally add a protectant, and only then cover the wound. Antiseptic wipes are cheap enough to have in every household or camping. They have a good long expiration time, and sooner or later will help you a lot.

It is effective against a range of microorganisms and is on the WHO’s list of the most safe and effective medicines. Chlorhexidine is also used in cosmetics (toothpaste, creams, antiperspirants, deodorants), and pharmaceutical products.
Chlorhexidine wipes used to disinfect catheter ports and hubs, blood culture and cannulas bottle tops, needle-free devices. Chlorhexidine wipes are an easy way to prepping the skin before surgery, reduce the risk of developing a surgical site infection. The wipes can be used for the rapid disinfection of hard surfaces in laboratory and healthcare environments.
For use in animals, chlorhexidine wipes are used as a topical disinfectant of wounds. It is widely used to manage dog’s skin infections. Chlorhexidine wipes help relieve bacterial and fungal skin infections like ringworm, hot spots, and acne in pets. They are easier than liquids and shampoos and are convenient to use between baths.
